File:Stewart and Constance Lake's marriage certificate.jpg[edit]

This is a hoax; notification on uploader's Wikipedia talk page and on Veronica Lake talk page Maile66 (talk) 01:06, 30 April 2017 (UTC)

@Maile66: I uploaded this on behalf of someone who wrote to ticket:2015121110001052. I do not understand the issue or controversy, except that there is one. Maile66 and another user seem to be on conflict on the English Wikipedia talk page. I am not participating in the discussion other than to say that I serviced what seemed to be a plausible and sincere OTRS ticket on a matter about which I know nothing. I understand. But since I believe this is a hoax, I think I'm supposed to report it here on Commons. After that, whoever makes decisions about this at Commons can do what they feel is correct. Either direction. Maile66 (talk) 00:06, 3 May 2017 (UTC)

@Daphne Lantier, Maile66: At ticket:2015121110001052 the person who shared these wants them restored. The situation is that published records say one thing. These court documents say another.
This seems like a personal matter for the person involved. This is not a one-off issue, and actually, lots of people write in with personal documents which contradict public records. Of course the wiki community does not have the capacity to do original research or journalism. I wish that we had a policy about this, but I am not sure what such a policy would say. Do you have any advice for me for what I should report back to the person writing? They are aware of this discussion page. Blue Rasberry (talk) 13:51, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
The hoax detail introduces a question of whether or not the images are within COM:SCOPE. It might be good to file an undeletion request in order to get the opinions of several admins on this. Daphne Lantier 16:40, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
