This workshop is part of the Graphics Lab, a project aimed at picture retouching to improve the graphical content of the Wikimedia projects. This specific page is the requests page for the Illustration Workshop. Anyone can make a request for an illustration to be created or improved. The standard format for making a request is shown below, along with general advice, and should be followed.

A Wikigraphist friend e-mailed me and asked "why do you need this? wouldn't the flags be enough?" Good questions-here's why:

1) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Scouting/Userboxes -we've been having some users make their own userboxes for their own country's Scouting, which is great except they've been using their country's copyrighted logos. ☹ This covers every country we have members in. I would think flags are okay, but they are using the emblems.

2) there are Scouting WikiProjects in several languages, so these could be used by multiple Scouting WikiProjects

3) the colors for Germany are not Austria, they are based on the original German Scouting https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deutscher_Pfadfinderbund

alcohol content[edit]

Request: The axes of this graph could be expanded greatly so as to cover beer (lower %, higher volume) and spirits (higher %, lower volume).

Sensible axes to encompass these drinks would probably be 3-50% ABV, and volume 20mL to 500mL. The x-axis should also have a label stating the units of ABV, (i.e. %) --147.109.124.149 13:55, 10 October 2016 (UTC)

The horizontal axis is labelled "Alcohol content, by volume". But no units are given. I suspect that what it shows is not volume, but percentage of alcohol, calculated by volume. If that is right, a better label would be "Percentage alcohol (ABV)". Maproom (talk) 09:45, 17 October 2016 (UTC)

The request is from a user, not community or on behalf of the community. Still there is no community consensus to make logo for 15th anniversary or change/redesign the current logo into new. Moreover, the current file is used over 100 files that reflects 10th anniversary. By changing the current logo, could mislead the contents where the logo is used. --Antan O 14:26, 18 April 2017 (UTC)

@AntanO, Perhelion: The thing which I wished was mis-written here. My request is to design a new logo like 10th anniversary logo. My wish was to create a logo for the 15th anniversary of tamil wikipedia as like the 10th anniversary logo. Not to change that but to create another one with Number15. Here just a mis understanding occurred because of my old request. Sorry for that and hope you'll try to create a new logo. To this is a request from me not from Tamil Wikipedia Community. @The C of E: Done Used the Image Trace tool from Adobe Illustrator, so it has around 5 MB. No time to draft it from scratch, perhaps somebody else can create it meanwhile. Hello @Uwe Martens:, it is indeed now in "SVG" format but exact this type of SVG what is absolutely not wanted here. It is a full huge code garbage. As you commented on your talk, I uploaded at minimum a PNG version (see COM:Filetypes #GIF). Another thing is the copyright and source for the GIF, you must specify that it is not your fully work (up-scaling/cutting and conversion made no authorship). @The C of E: -- User: Perhelion 16:42, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

@Perhelion: I have autotraced this SVG with Adobe Illustrator CC 2017 from an existing photo in the best way it was possible! Perhaps I could take another photo, but I requested the original file at the administration of the high school. Why redraw the whole coat of arms, if they simply can send us their version for upload in Commons? Request: I wonder if there is a quick tool to turn this drawing into an SVG or something. This is an artistic reconstruction of a ruined building on paper, the structure of which is described vaguely and contradictorily in primary sources. Other reconstructions that are made so far (a least the ones available online) are inaccurate and based on misconceptions. I'm not an architect, but I reconstructed it based on the latest consensus in scholarly articles discussing the purpose and general features of the structure, and real-world facts. Yet, the shape of the outer wall (I favored certain primary sources), and the size of the second and third "stories" and the dome are based on speculations by me, I didn't even use a ruler for those. Anyway, this is one possible structure. The other possible reconstruction would feature outer walls similar to the Image #2 above. -- Z 15:05, 1 July 2017 (UTC)
