Hypertension Study

The Answers of Participant 17 (Ms. DR, 52 years)

on the Questionnaire http://www.dr-schnitzer.de/inquiry2e.html

for a Study about Efficacy and Compliance of Hypertension Cure Measures
according to the book "Hypertension Causes & Cure"
by Dr. Johann Georg Schnitzer

1) My Hypertension Story before

Question Answer
Before I started to follow Dr. Schnitzer's recommendations, I was suffering from hypertension for: 3 (?) months
My average blood pressure before starting any medication was (usually measured after rest in Millimeters/Mercury = mm/Hg, e.g.; "normal" blood pressure = 125/85 mm/Hg): 167/103
My complaints before starting medication were (please describe in your words): I had no complaints, but discovered that my blood pressure was "moderately high" 4 months ago when I visited my doctor with another problem. When his nurse took my blood pressure, I discovered for the first time in my life that my blood pressure was moderately high. The last time I was to see my doctor was approcimately 9 months prior to that time and it was 130/80 at that time and 130/80 another 4 months before when I went to see him with other problems. I took it upon myself to purchase your book 3 months ago and educate myself on how to lower my blood pressure and keep it where it should be.
At last, before starting with Dr. Schnitzer's recommendations, the prescribed medication was:
Remedy to take x times/day

With this medication, and before starting to follow Dr. Schnitzer's recommendations, my blood pressure was (in millimeters/mercury = mm/Hg):
My complaints under this medication were (please describe in your words): So far my doctor has only requested that I make "lifestyle changes" and he hasn't prescribed medication.

2) My Start-up with Dr. Schnitzer's Recommendations:

I started to follow Dr. Schnitzer's recommendations:

In details, I started to practice: Answer
For breakfast Mueslis from germinable, freshly ground cereal grains, with fresh fruits and nuts

  X

X

... Avoiding: Answer

    X
Avoiding milk, milk products, and eggs
fully mostly still consuming
  X

  X

3) My doctors' support:

My doctor supported me in this new therapy
fully not much not at all
    X
My doctor's comments were: My doctor didn't give me any medicine, but only told me to get more exercise and more sleep and come back to see him in about three months. He stated my blood pressure should drop by then. He didn't say a word about my changing my diet. But I saw him 4 months ago and bought your book 3 months ago so that's when I started changing my diet according to your suggestions, along with exercising at least 30 minutes a day on my treadmill. Since I only slept about 4-5 hours a night before, I changed that too to make sure I'm getting at least 7 hours of sleep per nicht.
I searched and found another doctor:
Yes No
  X
If the answer before was "Yes": My new doctor supported me in this new therapy
fully not much not at all

The (if any) new doctor's comments were:

Blood-lettings

(Small blood lettings, accelerating the cure of hypertension. A series of blood lettings consists of 6-10 times, once per week, taking about 80-100 milliliters, not nore; aber that a pause of 12 weeks; if necessary another series).

I had blood lettings to support the cure of my hyoertension:
Yes No
  X
In details (if at all) I had these blood lettings:
1. Series x times 2. Series x times 3. Series x times

4) Changes in my blood pressure and health:

Frage Antwort
My average blood pressure in the following was (after resting, in mm/Hg):
after 4 weeks 143/95
after 8 weeks 120/83
after 12 weeks 122/82
The medication I stopped as follows (if stopped immediately, please put "after 0 week(s)":
Remedy after x weeks

The following changes in my health I remarked, after having started to follow Dr. Schnitzer's recommendations (please describe in your words): I lost 5-7 pounds of flab, firmed up, and I have more energy. Also I feel better about myself and am much more aware of what I need to eat to remain healthy.

5) How I am now:

Presently, my nutrition is composed as follows:

Eating: Answer
For breakfast Mueslis from germinable, freshly ground cereal grains, with fresh fruits and nuts
daily sometimes never
X

Lunch and dinner salads from green leaves and raw root vegetables

daily sometimes never
X
Adding germinated pulses (chickpeas, lentils, mungbeans) to the salads
daily sometimes never
  X
Eating fruits (apples, pears, pineapples etc.)
daily sometimes never
X
Eating wholemeal-bread made from germinable, freshly ground cereal grains
daily sometimes never
X

... Avoiding: Answer
Avoiding meat, chicken, fish
fully mostly still consuming
    X
Avoiding milk, milk products, and eggs
fully mostly still consuming
  X
Avoiding refined carbohydrates (sugar, white flour, products with)
fully mostly still consuming
  X
Avoiding boiled vegetables (exception: steamed potatoes)
fully mostly still consuming
  X
Avoiding boiled or canned fruits, and fruit juices (including freshly pressed ones!)
fully mostly still consuming

Presently, my average blood pressure is (measured after resting in mm/Hg): 120/83

Final remarks about my experience with this change in my life:

I plan to keep watching what I eat throughout the rest of my life using your suggestions, exercising, keeping my weight under control, meditating and relaxing taking deep breathes, and getting enough sleep. As I age I hope to keep my blood pressure under control to avoid the high risk of cardiovascular disease experienced by 50 % of our society. Thank you for your continued research in this area.

Annotation:

How easy it is to cure a beginning hypertension, when a sensible and intelligent patient meets a reasonable doctor! By following the nutritional advices of the book "Hypertension Causes & Cure" at only 66 %, the patient could normalize her blood pressure from recently elevated 167/103 mm/Hg to again normal 120/83 mm/Hg, within only 8 weeks. At the same time, her general health improved: "I lost 5-7 pounds of flab, firmed up, and I have more energy. Also I feel better about myself and am much more aware of what I need to eat to remain healthy."

Having learned from this experience, the patient concluded, from now on to keep watching what she eats for the rest of her life. "As I age I hope to keep my blood pressure under control to avoid the high risk of cardiovascular disease experienced by 50 % of our society. Thank you for your continued research in this area."

Her doctor, although feeling he shouldn't start to prescribe hypertension medication to this patient, and advising her to "change her lifestyle", only knew that to get more sleep and more exercise could do the job. About nutritional aspects, obviously he didn't have any knowledge.

My question to the Teachers of Medicine, who are responsible at the Universities for the course of medical studies: "Why don't you teach your students of medicine about the fundamental importance of nutrition? When speaking about the 'Oath of Hippocrates' (460-375 B.C.), why don't you teach them about this important part of the oath: 'I will apply dietetic measure for the benefit of the sick according to my ability and judgment; I will keep them from harm and injustice ...'? Why don't you teach and train them to receive this ability and judgment?"

This failure of Teachers of Medicine is a main cause, why the population is chronically ill, and why their offspring are increasingly degenerating, physically as well as mentally. I would be very glad to receive opinions from colleagues to this question. My e-mail-address is Dr.Schnitzer@t-online.de .
